Tushita Gallery is an oasis of silence in the heart of Munich's Glockenbachviertel district

We invite you to book private tea ceremonies in our premises for a variety of occasions. Whether as a corporate event, or as a birthday or wedding gift. Every occasion allows people to participate in the universal values that the Way of Tea has held for us for hundreds of years. In the tea ritual, we can partake in this knowledge and let ourselves be inspired by this state of mind. You can choose between two tea rituals: Japanese tea ceremony or the Chinese Gong Fu Cha ceremony.

GONGFU CHA — CHINESE TEA CEREMONY
Gongfu Cha
Gong Fu Cha is the term for a Chinese method of tea preparation. The tea is infused with great mindfulness and precision in appropriate vessels such as small clay teapots or the so-called gaiwan. The main difference from Western tea preparation is the ratio of water to tea. Gong Fu Cha uses a significantly smaller amount of water and a higher proportion of tea leaves.

Oolong or Pu Er teas are best suited for Gong Fu Cha, as the most infusions can be prepared from these varieties.


CHANOYU — JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY
Chanoyu
The Japanese tea ceremony, also known as Chado, is a ritualized form of tea preparation. The tea prepared in the Japanese tea ceremony is traditionally always matcha – it is prepared as either koicha (thick tea) or usucha (thin tea).

The venue is the Tushita Gallery at Westermühlstrasse 52 in Munich, which was specifically designed and built for this purpose and is modeled on Japanese tea houses.

For the purpose of the tea ceremony, the room is laid out with tatami mats. Special seat cushions are provided. Accessing these mats is only permitted in socks or stockings.

Aya will conduct the ceremony in a traditional kimono using vintage tea utensils.

A sweet treat is served alongside the tea.

Depending on the number of participants, the private tea ceremony lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.

Upon request, a vegan meal from the Tushita Tea House can also be booked as an extra.

PRIVATE TEA GROUPS 2026

Maximum 15 guests, no prior knowledge required. Minimum 6 guests, €68 per person.

The duration of the course/ceremony varies depending on the number of participants.

Cancellations are free of charge up to 7 days before the event. For later cancellations, we charge 50% of the course fee; the full amount is due for no-shows.
