TUSHITA GALLERY SOUND & MEDITATION GIFT CARD

The courses take place in the Tushita Gallery, which is just around the corner from the tea house. The gallery was designed by Om Hellenkamp specifically for the tea school, events & meditations. Clarity, warmth and aesthetics inspire visitors to enjoy the moment.

Sound

We know that sound can have a strong effect on body and mind.

Tones can soothe and delight us, calm our minds and relax our bodies.

They awaken memories of original harmonious vibrations within us and stimulate mind and body to resonate with these healing tones.

Since sound has no conceptual meaning, it does not evoke predetermined reactions in us.

This allows our habitual thinking to recede more and more into the background to make way for a different kind of perception.

“However, the sounds also show us where we are tense in the body, where we are holding on and have settled into this tension.”

We notice this when inner blockages are touched by the sound and we are prompted to face all the sensations that appear in our mind and body as if by themselves.

Course Content

In the first phase, we practice not holding on to precisely these feelings and thoughts that make up our normal, everyday consciousness.

In the second phase, we work with gongs and bowls from Japan that are used in shrines and Zen monasteries there.

About the Course Instructor

Om Hellenkamp has been engaged for over 40 years with the healing aspects of music and sound and its holistic effect on mind and body.

Six-year training with Odile Banamwana, an African healer, dancer and choreographer.

Three-year training with Fabien Mamon, musician and sound healer from France.
