Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a fundamental component of TCM and means working with the life energy Qi. The practice consists of daily repetition of simple movements synchronized with the rhythm of our breath. The vitalizing effect of this standing, flowing meditation unfolds from the conscious presence in body and mind. For thousands of years, Qi Gong has combined elements of visualization, auto-suggestion, and progressive muscle relaxation, which are also known in Western medicine as healing techniques. Through the alternating application of soft and hard Qi Gong, a harmonious blend of relaxation and tension for our lives can be found.

About the Instructor

In addition to his 10 years of training as a Kung Fu and Qi Gong master, Thoren earned a doctorate in American literature. Both as a lecturer at LMU Munich and as a trainer at the Ajahn Lao martial arts school, his passion is to pass on what he has learned to re-understand it through dialogue with his students. His guiding principle is the motto of Vipassana meditation: to see things as they are. Dedicating himself curiously and critically to the knowledge of the Western and Eastern world about sustainable health has thus become his life's path. In his courses, he intuitively combines tradition and innovation in the daily exploration of body and mind.
