FOR HOT WATER...
Cast iron teapots have a long tradition in Japan and have been crafted with great skill by established families for hundreds of years. Originally intended only for boiling water over open fires, these pots were mainly used in the traditional tea ceremony. The pot presented here is such a traditional pot and is raw inside. It comes from an old cast iron manufacturer in the Iwate Prefecture of Japan. The great thing about raw pots is that the water gets that perfect, slightly iron-rich and wonderfully soft taste. Infusing with such water results in a special flavor! Cast iron is more porous than iron and retains heat longer than regular iron.
"You can place the Tesubin on any stovetop and, of course, on a warmer to prepare your Sencha or white tea directly at the table."
