PRIVATE TEA CEREMONY AT TUSHITA GALLERY OR YOUR PREMISES
You can choose between two tea rituals: Japanese Chanoyu, or Chinese Gongfu Cha.
Tushita Gallery is an oasis of calm in the heart of Munich's busy Glockenbachviertel.
We invite you to book a private tea tasting or ceremony for a wide variety of occasions – as a corporate event, a birthday or wedding present.
When we drink tea together, we meet face to face as humans and experience harmony, respect, purity and stillness, as have others before us for centuries.
As a ritual performance, tea ceremonies allow us to connect to tradition in a very real way, to experience philosophy with our own bodies.

GONGFU CHA — CHINESE TEA CEREMONY
Gongfu Cha is one classic Chinese method of tea degustation. Tea is prepared as a succession of several infusions using specialized tools, such as lidded bowls, clay teapots and very small cups.
The main point of Gongfu Cha is not philosophy, but to experience tea with the senses and to enjoy spending time together. Both taste and aroma of tea change over several infusions. To highlight these changes, a high leaf-to-water ratio is used so that all the nuances can be perceived.
CHANOYU — JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY
Japanese tea ceremony, also known as Chado or Sado, is a ritualized traditional form of tea preparation. The tea used in the ceremony is always Matcha, prepared either as Koicha (strong tea) or Usucha (light tea).
Our host Aya, a seasoned practicioner of the Urasenke school will prepare Matcha wearing traditional kimono and using vintage tea utensils. A sweet is served alongside.
Private ceremonies last 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the number of participants. A vegan meal from Tushita Tea House is also available, to be booked separately on request.
PRIVATE TEA GROUPS 2026
Maximum 15 guests, no prior knowledge required. Minimum 6 guests, €68 per person.
Course / ceremony duration varies depending on the number of participants.
